There’s a lot of talk about how Christians should interact with power today, and with good reason. In the US over the last few weeks, we’ve seen the name of Jesus invoked in some strange ways in the pursuit of power. Is that how Jesus would want us to lead?

You’re listening to Happy & Holy, a podcast about discipleship and community and how we meet each other right where we are to be the people of God on planet earth. And when we do, we have the potential to become the happy and holy disciples we are meant to be.

I’m your host Kate Boyd, and today, we’re talking through Mark’s account of how Jesus interacted with government AND religious leaders during his lifetime. When we do, we can see how Jesus was actually bringing in a whole different kind of power and leadership to the table. And one that we can emulate today.

The Kingdom of God is unlike any other. It’s one we can participate in bringing to earth every single day. But only if we choose to keep our eyes on that kingdom instead of building our own, like Jesus did.

Enjoy today’s episode? I’d love if you would rate and review on your favorite podcast player to help more people see Jesus anew.
