SONAL Welcome to my brand new Do What You Love mini series. In this series I am chatting with people who have mastered this art and I ask them the same three questions: How did you find the confidence to embark on 'doing what you love' instead of settling for a 'sensible job'? What sacrifices (if any) have you had to make, and has it been worth it? How did you develop your mindset to believe you can make a living doing what you love? These are questions I was desperate to ask people when I was trying to figure out how to escape work I hated and do what I love. In this second episode of the mini-series we have Sonal Nathwani as our guest who is an incredibly talented painter of expressive florals & dreamy landscapes. Sonal imparts incredible the wisdom needed to pursue the desire to do what you loved along with her practical experience of doing so. She encourages us to notice the things you can't stop thinking about, and trust that. That you don't need to be using your brain so much because your soul knows. Enjoy the episode and let me know what stuck with you by dropping me an email at [email protected] ABOUT SONAL Sonal took the scenic route to get to where she now stands on her career path. She decided to leave the finance industry after her second son was born, to live ‘the creative life’ and can now happily say she's a painter. As well as paintings on canvas, Sonal likes to paint on any surface that she feels needs to be beautified. This naturally led her to the world of surface pattern design. Sonal usually starts with a painted or hand drawn motif and then digitally develops the artwork to create bold and colourful designs for products and textiles. She licenses her artwork to several companies for home decor items and accessories, as well as art prints and textiles.
