We’re talking to Anna Berka, a Massey University lecturer with an interest in Community Energy.
She was responsible for the incredible New Zealand Aotearoa Community Energy Dataset, is a register of all the country's local or community owned renewable energy initiatives, covering everything from consumer trust owned networks to community and Iwi-owned renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
To help ensure we understand what “community energy” is, I tried to clarify a bunch of things that I didn’t think qualified. It turns out I’m not the expert I thought I was.
