E55: Jimmy Jenkins Co-Founder of Uptown Records Talks Al B Sure, Christopher Williams, Mary J Blige Uptown Reunion

The Uptown story starts with its founding in 1986 via a $75,000 deal with MCA for a compilation album and effectively ends with Andre exiting to run Motown Records with a contract worth millions.  Jimmy Jenkins, also known as Jimmy Luvs or “JLuvs”, had previously been the Vice President of Uptown Records alongside Andre’ Harrell.
