Episode 41 – Creating A Performance Driven Culture: Mastermind Interview with Philip Williams

Philip Williams is a 3-time Inc. 5000 honoree after becoming the CEO of a 17-year-old cash strapped company and growing it at 50% per year for 5 straight years. That resulted in two nearly simultaneous acquisition offers from two publicly traded multi-national corporations. He accomplished it all by bootstrapping the business.

In this episode, we discuss how to create a performance drive culture. Despite what many experts argue, Williams contends that creating sustainable growth starts first with "crowdsourcing" ideas from your team. By doing so, Williams argues that employees have control and ownership of the intended outcomes. Additionally, when you empower employees to contribute to the growth of the company, you are free to focus on bigger problems. Williams argues that one of the biggest problems for #startups and #smallbusinesses is that they do not know how to use the Return on Investment metric in their business thinking. Williams spotlights several organizations that failed to implement this type of a framework and paid the price, including #Sears and #WellsFargo.
