In Mastermind Interview episodes, I talk with startups in the sharing economy space and seek to learn how they are leveraging the shared use of capital to create value and save the planet. In this episode, I talked with Julie Farr, the founder of Shared Kitchens, Decatur, GA. Shared Kitchens, founded in 2008, was the first concept of this type in Georgia. Julie literally wrote the regulations that made it possible for food entrepreneurs to work in a shared space and launch commercial business concepts for a fraction of the cost required in prior years. Julie's model is simple. She has taken on all the capital risk and she markets her capacity to food entrepreneurs who can't afford to buy a storefront. Julie expanded to her services offering to manage all the administrative issues such as licensing and now packaging for her clients.
