Grove FM is an award winning radio station and new media unit based at Lyndhurst Primary School. We create child-led broadcasts which are linked to the curriculum and school life.
The emphasis is not on final product, although a professional product is a bonus; our focus is on the process of creating work – and providing a platform for children to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas.

Lyndhurst Music Departments Spring Round Up

Book Week 2023

Lyndhurst celebrated book week this term with lots of fantastic activities and enthusiasm for reading. Our main book focus for the week was Hike by Pete Oswald. The children explored the poem, wrote their own featured poems, went on their own hike and recorded their own sound effects plus lot's more. This is what Grove Fm managed to capture during the week

National Coding Week

We celebrated national coding week at Lyndhurst whereby the children got to learn and put into practice new coding and tech skills. Huge thanks to Ms Kamiska for leading such an enjoyable week with parents who are in the tech industry coming in to teach the children. I took small groups from across the school into Grove Fm to have a little chat about how they found it.

Dyslexia Awareness Week

A couple of weeks ago we were highlighting the importance of Dyslexia Awareness in schools and more importantly at Lyndhurst. This year we combined it with Grove Fm's transition project which looks at dyslexic learners at they navigate their way from primary to secondary school education. We assigned a small of group of our year sixes to ask a few past Lyndhurst pupils on how that transition has gone.
