Yesterday, it was reported that the U.S. has been tracking a suspected Chinese high-altitude surveillance balloon. A senior defense official told Pentagon reporters it was flying over sensitive sites to collect information although the Chinese Foreign Ministry said it simply flew off course. One of the places the balloon was spotted was in Montana, near one of the nation’s three nuclear missile silo fields at Malmstrom Air Force Base. The U.S. government has identified China as Washington’s top security concern but can we consider this an act of aggression by China?
