The new film, Son of the South tells the story of Bob Zellner who broke from his Alabama Ku-Klux-Klan heritage to become the first white Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee organiser in the historic US civil rights movement – and nearly got lynched for it! He spoke with Green Left’s Barry Healy, expanding on the film’s story to include his radical trajectory from the 1960s onwards.
