## Our week in WoW
### Polly
I've been sick all week. I had my second COVID vaccine the Friday before last. No sooner did I feel better from that, I came down with some nasty crud. Therefore, I haven't done Children's Week, and I'm pretty sure that I won't finish School of Hard Knocks by the end of the WoW week.

We are also getting ready to move across the country. I'm not sure how we are going to handle episodes while we are in the process but, I will do my best to keep the episode popping out on a fortnightly basis even if we have to prerecord. So for now we are going to take out the News segment of the podcast and I may record the Question of the Episodes seperately. We are also going to be trimming down the Calendar segment unless there are non-recurring events for that episode.

### Lore Bite:
Northern Stranglethorn was separated from the Cape of Stranglethorn during The Shattering of Deathwing.

I remember the first time I crossed into Stranglethorn from Duskwood and it was just a completely different look from the other zones I had been in. While there were some quests that were a little painful to do back in pre-Cata, they've really streamlined them since then, including the removal of Green Hills of Stranglethorn, which has been replaced by a single page for Hemet Nesingwary.

* To get this pet you're going to go to Stormwind Harbor /way 25, 29 and pick up the quests from Bwemba.
* Next travel to Fort Livingston in Northern Stranglethorn Vale to meet the Darkspear Emissary.
* From there, there is a quest chain that will get to the quest 'Some Good Will Come' which will award you with the Panther Cub.
* Horde:
* Talk to Bwemba in Orgrimmar in the Valley of Spirits /way 32 68.
* She will have you go to Bambala in Northern Stranglethorn.
* From there you continue the quest chain which will award you with the Panther Cub.
* When you are tracking the panther make sure you follow the smoke plumes. The camp where you find and kill Mauti at /way 77 69.

## Zone: Cape of Stranglethorn
### Lore Bite:
The cape is separated from Northern Stranglethorn by a whirpool called the Sundering which was caused by Deathwing's Cataclysm. The Sundering whirlpool is not to be confused with The Great Sundering which shattered the continents making Kalimdor, Northrend, Pandaria, Eastern Kingdoms, as well as Kezan, Kul Tiras, Zandalar and the Broken Isles.

Short John Mithrill will place a chest in the middle of the arena. You will be flagged for open PvP against both factions while in the arena.
* [Gurubashi Arena Grand Master](https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=396/gurubashi-arena-grand-master) - Complete Short John Mithrils's quest to obtain the Arena Grand Master trinket - You'll have to loot the Furubashi Arena chest 12 times to complete this.
* [Master Angler of Azeroth](https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=306/master-angler-of-azeroth) - Every Sunday at 2pm server there is a fishing tournament in all of Stranglethorn Vale. The first 50 players that turn in 40 Speckled Tastyfish will win. I have yet to win it, but common advice given is to set your hearth stone to Booty Bay so you can turn in is quicker. (pause for polly) Then just make sure you fish in areas that aren't over crowded. This fish shows up in any fishing school in both Northern Stranglethorn and the Cape of Stranglethorn. The first 3 to hand it in get their choice of prizes.
* [One That Didn't Get Away](https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=878/one-that-didnt-get-away#) - While you're doing the Booty Bay Fishing Tournament you should try to fish up the Rockhide Strongfish. (Pause for Polly and banter) 1h mace
* [The Old Gnome and the Sea](https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=153/the-old-gnome-and-the-sea) - Successfully fish from a school - You'll get this achievement while you are fishing from the fishing schools for the fishing trounament.
* [Avast Ye, Admiral!](https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=871/avast-ye-admiral) - Feat of Strength
* To get this achievement you're going to have to kill Booty Bay NPCs. This will tank your reputation with the Steamwheedle Cartel: Booty Bay, Everlook, Gadgetzan, and Ratchet.
* You can also go to Faldir's Cove in Arathi Highlands to kill goblins there. That will help boost your Bloodsail Reputation.
* To get your goblin reputation back I recommend killing Pirates in Tanaris otherwise Goblins in the goblin cities like Gadgetzan and Booty Bay will attack you relentlessly. Ask me how I know.
* You can also kill pirates in Venture Bay in Grizzley Hills as it increases your reputation with the Booty Bay, Everlook, Gadgetzan, and Ratchet but it doesn't decrease your reputation with Bloodsail Buccaneers.
* This will get you started on your the Insane title, which will require Honored with Bloodsail Buccaneers, and Exalted with all four Steamwheddle Cartel reps, Darkmoon Faire, and Ravenholdt. We will be covering the other reputations later but, if you're following along with the podcast you will have 5 done for now. To get the insane title you don't need to have all the reps at exalted at the same time. You just have to have the reps and corresponding Achievements at some point.

* You can also get the Defending Champion Trinket from the Arena Treasure Chest which is an Heirloom that you can upgrade.
## Zone: Booty Bay
### Lore Bite:
A pirate city on the southern tip of the Cape of Stranglethorn. The city used to be known as Blackwater Cove but was overrun by jungle trolls. Eventually goblins of the Steamwheedle Cartel drove out the trolls to make a new hub for their trade operations Booty Bay.

* There are a bunch of pets avalible through the Trading Card Game that can be redeemed in Booty Bay. I'm not going to list them because the trading card game is out of print.

* Cockatiel - Polly and I have a cockatiel named Togepi. You may notice her during some of our recordings, but overall she's a well behaved bird. I'll post pictures of her on Twitter and on the website if you want your birb tax.

#### Reward Pets
* Mechanical Chicken - There are mechanical chickens in Tanaris, Hinterlands, and Feralas. Once you do their quests you'll be able to complete this quest in Booty Bay. We will remind you after we've covered all three of those zones.

While you're doing the Booty Bay quests after the Bloodsail quests, there's a point where the Bloodsail come and attack Booty Bay. At this point you can go to war with the Booty Bay Faction and kill the townspeople and guards. Once you raise your Bloodsail rep up enough to get the title Bloodsail Admiral, you can fly over to the cape where the Bloodsail are at. You can even top out your Bloodsail rep to exalted while you're doing this. Then there are a ton of Bloodsail people to kill that you can use to raise your reputation back up with the Steemwheedle Cartel factions. No matter what way you choose to level your reputation for Bloodsail and back, it's going to be a grind.

## Dungeon: Zul'Gurub

If you're running this at max level make sure you turn this dungeon to Heroic

### Lore Bite:
Zul'Gurub, the temple city, was the capital city of the Gurubashi Empire. The Gurubashi controlled all of Stranglethorn. Now it is just home to the Gurubashi tribe. The Gurubashi Empire was torn apart by a civil war.

* Kill both adds at the bottom of Highlord Venoxis' staircase
* Aggro Highlord Venoxis
* Don't kill him, wait for him to turn into a snake
* Don't step in anything green, pools, trails, nothing
* Nuke him down after he turns into a snake

* Just kill the boss and you'll get the achievement at max level.
* If you're not at max level just make sure you keep from killing Ohgan. It's basically a dps race to kill the boss.
* [Here, Kitty Kitty...](https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=5765/here-kitty-kitty#comments) - Defeat High Priestess Kilnara in Heroic Difficulty after having fed Temple Rats to 4 of Bethekk's Pride
* The easiest way to get this is to have 4-5 players. Clear the trash before the boss, and go back and each person grabs a Temple Rat. Then aggro the boss and 4 cats. Once the cats are out put the temple rat on the ground. Once a cat has eaten the rat you call kill it. As each person drops their rat continue killing the cats. Then kill the Priestess Kilnara
* If you are soloing, clear the trash up to the boss and then go back and retrieve a rat from the upper floors. Head down to the boss and engage her and all four cats. Drop the first rat you have and kill the cat that eats it. Then go to the entrance and a rat will spawn every minute. So you'll have some surviving to do, but eventually you'll get enough to complete the requirements for this achievement.* [Spirit Twister](https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=5759/spirit-twister) - Defeat 20 Twisted Spirits within 15 seconds during the Jin'do encounter in Zul'Gurub on Heroic Difficulty.
* Just run around and pick up the spirits without killing them once you have 20 you can AOE them all down.
