God chose David to be Israel’s king because he was a man after God’s own heart. When David’s desire was to pursue the heart and will of God, all of Israel benefited and was blessed through and because of his actions. But David forgot what is was that had led God to anoint him as king over Israel. And when he did, trouble came. Even in his trouble, however, David’s heart returned to God. As we wrap up this series, we will learn about sin and repentance, and we will turn our eyes to ultimate forgiveness that came only through and in Jesus.
