Life is expensive. There’s no question about it. You have to have money to make it in the
world. (And death isn’t free, either.) When it comes to money we often feel anxious about having “enough.” Enough to make ends meet. Enough to maintain our lifestyles and also cover other large, future expenses. Enough to set up our children and grandchildren for financial success. We don’t care to live like kings, of course, but it would be great to have enough to be financially independent. Is that really too much to ask? Perhaps not. But Jesus offers so much more: His kingdom. A place where anxiety and greed cannot exist. He provides everyone with a starting point for experiencing His kingdom now. But then He calls His disciples to “level up.”
