In this video I'm joined by Orthodox Iconographer, podcaster, and public intellectual, Jonathan Pageau to explore iconography, symbolism, and meaning. We tackle questions about how to interpret ancient texts, avoiding chronological snobbery, and how to move past our time's crisis of meaning. We also explore some of Jonathan's personal story, how he got into iconography, and what led him to the Orthodox church. Of course, we also talked about patterns and how to read the Bible while paying attention to patterns as well as seeing patterns in the world. One of my favorite questions we explored was, what's the line between seeing patterns and conspiracy theories?
