1 Corinthians 15:20-58 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - The Corinthians had struggled through so many internal difficulties. Their church had been shaken up by selfishness, factiousness, misappropriation of spiritual gifts, and worldly wisdom. So, Paul wanted to encourage them to stand fast in the gospel and remember Christ crucified and risen again. In chapter fifteen, the apostle took time to tease out the implications of the resurrection, the nature of the resurrected, and how the resurrection would one day occur. He did all that to encourage believers to persevere in gospel truth and gospel work. Christ is risen and one day Christians will be resurrected too. So, because of that, believers must stand fast in the gospel and abound in the work of the Lord. May God use his word this weekend to increase our understanding of the resurrection and encourage our hearts in sound doctrine and steadfast ministry for the sake of his name.
