Luke 1:26-45 - Speaker: Luke Bylsma - This week we enter into the second story in the Advent season, about Mary and her virgin birth. Coming on the heals of the story about Zechariah and Elizabeth, Luke wants us to see a comparison and contrast. Both Zechariah and Mary had very similar encounters with Gabriel, and both respond to his announcement. Yet, what we will find in our passage this week is that Mary responds different to the promise than Zechariah did. As a result, we’ll consider why we should believe the promise of God about his Son, Jesus.
