Gary Thomas is a bestselling author and international speaker whose ministry aims to draw people closer to Christ and to others. He uses the study of Scripture, church history, and the Christian classics to foster spiritual growth and deeper relationships within the Christian community.

Gary is the author of several books, including When to Walk Away: Finding Freedom from Toxic People, that have established him as a thought-leader in the areas of marriage, parenting, and spiritual formation. He also serves on the teaching team (and Writer in Residence) at Second Baptist Church, Houston, and is an adjunct faculty member at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon, and Houston Theological Seminary in Houston Texas. Gary’s writing and speaking ministry has led him across the globe, with broadcasts on national television and radio programs, including multiple appearances on Focus on the Family and Family Life Today.
