People were bringing their children to Jesus for a blessing, but the disciples rebuked them. They thought Jesus was too busy for the children. The truth is they did not place the same value on children that Jesus did. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was upset with his disciples. Jesus' response reminds the disciples (and us) that children are important to Him. He compares the simple, dependent trust of children to the faith of someone who receives the Kingdom of God. As we kick off the new children's ministry, we need to remember that Christ placed a high value on children. Because Christ placed a high value on them, we need to make sure that we do not hinder the children from coming to Christ.
