Enver Gjokaj

New life after deep depression; raised by Christian foster parents due to his mother's addictions; discovering his artistic talents and "making it" in Hollywood; reconciling with his impossible standards of success; and living a life of gratitude devoted to his health, his community and a purpose higher than himself.

Another of Nick's old friends, Enver Gjokaj - pronounced "Joke-Eye" - (Marvel's "Agent Carter" & "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse", Emergence) visits the studio, and almost instantly we're swept up in not only Enver's journeys abroad, but the deeply mindful journey he's embarked on over the last handful of years since he bottomed out with depression.  Enver's story is a story of resilience - from being raised at times by foster parents due to his mothers' drug addiction, to achieving nearly all of the life goals he has so far set for himself, to finally choosing a path of health, happiness and gratitude after years spent in an unhealthy mindset and self-abuse.  Enver speaks openly and eloquently about his struggles both personally and professionally, and how he works to overcome these struggles by devoting himself to his community of loved ones and serving a purpose higher than himself.  We're catching Enver at a beautiful and inspiring stage in his spiritual journey, and I know I walked away much better for having heard him tell about it.
