This week Jo Hausman interviews Delaine Shay who is the author of And Then, We Laughed a Memoir of Hope & Healing.

At the young age of not quite 3, in 1953, Delaine's dad accidentally backed over her four-year-old brother. Little did she realize that from that point on, she would try to live his life as well as her own. Survivor’s guilt gnawed at her for decades; she didn’t feel that she had worth just being herself. She turned to alcohol after several other scares in her life.

Delaine will share with us how she first realized she was an alcoholic (thanks her to husband and a good friend Judy), the next steps she did to get sober. Then how she was brought to a childlike, robust humor that made her life shine again. With that robustness in her she wrote her book And Then We Laughed....

Listen and learn how Delaine is the strong woman she is today! Blessings abound her.
