Amoreena: Hello! And welcome to Gloom Gals. The podcast where we take a scaredy cat and a horror hoe and guide you through the horror genre.

Kaitlyn: I’m Kaitlyn, your friendly neighborhood scaredy cat

A: And I’m Amoreena, the aforementioned horror hoe!

K: Join us if you’re tired of being left out of movie nights with your friends,

A: Even if it’s for your own good!

K: Or because you’re wanting to expand your movie passport

A: Or even just your comfort zone.

K: Through this journey we’re hoping you are able to find a horror niche you can actually enjoy

A: Keep up with your annoying film friends at parties, at least a little bit

K: and hopefully have some fun as I attempt to do the same!

A: We’ll be giving you reviews of the movies Kaitlyn and I watch in every episode and exploring what constitutes a good scary movie, how it made us feel, and why you should or should not watch it.

K: And I will also be providing a handy-dandy 1-5 finger guide on just how much you’re going to have to cover your eyes during the movie (I will also be giving you some helpful time stamps of the super gnarly parts!)

A: Very important work.

K: So a little bit about me and my experience with horror--I grew up enjoying mostly fantasy movies, right? Lord of the Rings was my favorite movie series, even though I covered my eyes during half the movies, or every single time an Orc was on screen, because I thought they were just too scary. I also don’t particularly like jump scares, or body horror, and tend to get nightmares super easily. That all being said, I love stories. And annoyingly enough, horror has some really good stories. And then, I moved in with one of my dearest ones who is a horror fanatic, and well, here we are.

A: And fanatic is a pretty accurate term. I’ve loved horror movies pretty much since I was able to work the remote on our tv. I’m not sure what drew me to them initially; if it was a sick sort of morbid curiosity or maybe experiencing an adrenaline rush like my ten year old self had never had before. Either way, over the years I’ve curated a place in my heart for the ghouls, gore, and final girls. This whole tour through the subgenres, niches, and classics is something I didn't know I’ve basically been training my whole life to do, and I look forward to sharing that with all of you.

K: So if you’d like to tag along, you can find us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Stitcher.

A: And if that’s not enough, stalk us on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, @ gloomgalspod

K: We’ll see ya next time!... Or will we?
