What are the challenges & opportunities for the conference industry during the 2020 pandemic? In this episode, we will hear the learnings of two recent TV & Film market event organizers who chose to quickly adapt and take their events online: MIFA’s head of markets, Véronique Encrenaz and the Banff World’s Media Festival’s Executive Director, Jenn Kuzmyk. These two markets, alongside MIPTV, Hot Docs and the Cannes Film Festival, were some of the world’s first content industry examples to offer virtual events during this crisis. Amidst lock-downs and travel restrictions, our two guests chose the difficult path to reinvent themselves overnight. We'll learn how they first reacted, pivoted and ultimately executed and established the first online templates that may likely become models to grow upon in the months and years to come.
