Welcome to episode 15 of Global VID! In this episode, host Eric Y. Lapointe introduces listeners to BC-based producers Cedar Island Films (Andrew Williamson & Henrik Meyer) and their co-production & international sales partners, The National Film Board (NFB), as we invite their Director of International Distribution & Market Development, Nathalie Bourdon.

The first half of the episode, we focus on Cedar Island Films, this Vancouver-area production company that creates documentaries, doc series, scripted series and feature films with a strong focus on international co-productions.  In this segment, we learn how Andrew & Henrik first got started in the business, how they ultimately banded together to form this new prodco and how they helped support the creation of their new NFB documentary The Magnitude of All Things.

Stick around for the second half of the episode as Nathalie Bourdon joins the conversation to further discuss the NFB's collaborative distribution approach with Cedar Island Films as they work towards international exposure for The Magnitude of All Things.  The NFB is Canada’s long running public film & digital media producer AND distributor that has been operating since 1939. The NFB has produced some iconic Canadian films in their history so it was interesting to discuss the above documentary further as it shares a uniquely Canadian perspective on a very global story.
