However, I wanted to address last weeks news in the Social Media spectrum of Digital Marketing, that ethical cosmetics retailer, Lush, announced they are closing their social media channels. 

Last week Lush said they would shut down its entire UK social media channels because they are “tired of fighting with algorithms” and doesn’t want to “pay to appear” in customers’ feeds. This shock move has received mixed reactions but is it as shocking as we really think? Is this simply marketing itself or does Lush have another trick up their sleeve?
