Ep 331: ABIS, Advancement of Blacks In Sports w/Gary Charles, Sonny Vaccaro & Ndidi Massay. Plus NBA & NHL Finals.

The ladies have been blessed to have a trio of exceptional guests on this week.  The Advancement of Blacks in Sports (ABIS) 2nd annual  “Champions & Legends” in in Las Vegas this week at Caesar’s Hotel & Casino, and Mo & Mel are joined by CEO & Founder Gary Charles, Sports Marketing LEGEND Sonny Vaccaro and CBS Sports VP of Workplace Culture & Diversity Initiatives Ndidi Massay.  Needless to say, this show is one for the record books, the vast amount of knowledge not only in sports but marketing, diversity & inclusion and racial equality!  Gary Charles gives background on how ABIS came to fruition, his long time relationship with Sonny Vaccaro & what ABIS raises money for, in helping build & increase Racial Equality in collegiate and professional athletics.  Sonny Vaccaro, needs no introduction…most by now know him as the man who brought Michael Jordan to Nike through “Air” the movie’s recent release.  But to know know his decades of history in basketball, in developing and helping High School students emerge into the college & professional platforms.  The lives he’s impacted and the work he continues to do into his 80s is incredible, including his membership and work with ABIS.  Ndidi, a HOF collegiate athlete, lawyer & leader and change maker in the Culture & Diversity impact on corporations and community.  They all share some nuggets on their work and the goals of making Racial Equality not something to be taught or learned but something that is within all of us one day.  This is MUST WATCH episode!

The later part of the show, Mo & Mel discuss the #NBAFinals with the Heat making it out the Eastern Conference to meet the Denver Nuggets in the finals.  The #StanleyCupFinals is also about to begin as the #VegasGoldenKnights and Florida Panthers both seek to win their first Franchise Championship.  Plus the #LVAces have a great start to their season and received their 2022 World Championship rings & unveiled their Championship banner!
