Episode 12: Patrick Rodriguez on dating in prison, incarceration, and mindset

In this episode, I speak with Patrick Rodriguez, the Executive Director of Georgia Coalition for Higher Education in Prison and serves as the Director of Special Projects for Common Goods Atlanta. As a formerly incarcerated leader, Patrick has been working in the prison education space since his release in 2019. He wants to serve those who have been through the same experience as him, whether that is through advocating for them on a legislative level or giving someone a ride to work. In addition, Patrick is currently studying at Kennesaw State University majoring in organizational and Professional Communication with plans to attend law school in 2022.

We dive into dating while in prison, since Patrick himself was in a relationship. He also provides an overview of prison and what the communication is like as well as the many mindset shifts that he had during his time there. You can find Patrick on instagram @patrickleerod.
