Lisa is a screenwriter, author of non-fiction books, and prose writer whose work was described by the American Library Association’s Readers’ Advisory Guide to Horror as “consistently dark, unsettling, and frightening.” She is a six-time winner of the Bram Stoker Award®, the author of four novels and over 150 short stories, and a world-class Halloween expert who has appeared on the History Channel, the Travel Channel, the Military Channel, and in the supplements on the Blu Ray release of the movie Trick ‘R Treat. After the release of her acclaimed 2015 book Ghosts: A Haunted History, Lisa was called “one of the world’s leading authorities on the supernatural.” Her 2019 book Ghost Stories: Classic Tales of Horror and Suspense was called “a work of art” in a starred review from Publisher’s Weekly, and as a ghost expert she’s appeared on such shows as Coast to Coast, Midnight in the Desert, Paranormal Perception, and many more. Her recent releases include Weird Women: Classic Supernatural Fiction from Groundbreaking Female Writers 1852-1923 (co-edited with Leslie S. Klinger) and Calling the Spirits: A History of Seances; forthcoming in 2021 is the collection Night Terrors and Other Stories. When she’s not writing or putting together the weekly “Ghost Reports” for Ghost Magnet with Bridget Marquardt, she’s at home in the San Fernando Valley getting ready for Halloween.
