This week on Getting Literate, Katie and Julia chose a short story by Maeve Binchy, The Ten Snaps of Christmas, from her collection “This Year It Will Be Different”. It’s exam season and we’re tired! The gals discuss how to be underage smokers on Christmas, holiday stress, and whether or not giftcards are an appropriate gift. Katie thinks it’s kinda terrible that we’re normalizing how shitty everyone feels on Christmas, and Julia wonders why holiday media loves to portray people having affairs. PLUS: Peloton, Love Actually, and House of Gucci. As always, there's definitely spoilers, so proceed with caution. Also featuring Julia’s dog Sophie!
