This week on Getting Literate, Katie and Julia tackle a short story by Sylvia Plath, Mary Ventura and the Ninth Kingdom. The gals dive into colour symbolism, female agency, and the religious connotations of certain numbers. Julia unpacks all kinds of symbols and allusions within this, and Katie desperately misses Sylvia Plath (a woman who died 30 years before Katie existed). PLUS: The Stepford Wives, red light districts, and knitting.
