Fishing The Powlett River Estuary, five minutes from the township of Kilcunda, is often blocked to the sea. Causing it to form a wide, shallow lake. I've been fishing in this area for decades.  It's a great spot.  The Powlett is always fishable.  Even when the mouth is blocked by a sandbar to the sea.  Best times are dawn and dusk.  Target species include Black Bream, Mullet even Australian Salmon.  I've caught sea-run Brown Trout in the Powlett River!!
