Welcome to Get Up in the Cool: Old Time Music with Cameron DeWhitt and Friends! This week’s friend is Joe Showalter. I stopped by his house a couple months ago at the end of my first Get Up in the Cool tour, and it was really nice to get to know him a little better and play one on one. We talked about religion and music, and the tension that exists there sometimes. Specifically, the line between worship and performance, which, incidentally, I think, is a false dichotomy that is also present in old time music.
