In this episode, Caroline Hobby sits down with Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Alysa Vanderheym. Alysa was a co-writer and producer on Kelsea Ballerini’s “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat” EP which was nominated for Best Country Album at this year’s Grammy Awards. Alysa weighs in on being a female producer in a male-dominated industry. She shares about the process of creating “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat” and how she was ironically in a creative rut at the time of producing it. Alysa is an incredibly accomplished songwriter. She earned her first No. 1 with Jameson Rodgers and Luke Combs‘ “Cold Beer Calling My Name,” and has had cuts with Blake Shelton, Jelly Roll, Kygo and One Republic, Florida Georgia Line and more. We get to hear how she made her way from California’s Bay area to Nashville to make her mark in the music industry.
