First Laz clears up some details about Comstock, including the first time he tried Jack Mack. After leaving Comstock, Laz went to Clinton to await his classification for prison assignment. After a spine-chillingly ominous warning from a guard, Laz has to wait to find out where he'll be going, but first, he finds out unexpectedly he has to do ten days in the box. Fortunately, since there wasn't any room in solitary, Laz did the ten days in a regular cell block. From there Laz relates the events of his stay, from making jail wine to receiving an unexpected gift from his neighbor on the neighbors birthday (who was probably innocent of the murder he was convicted of.)
