One thing that is for certain, we are not eternal. When we are young it seems like our lives will last forever, we are invincible, and all our dreams will come true. But life has a way of eroding this positivity away. What we learn is that our lives are hard and short, but we still want our days on this blue ball to matter. This Psalm written by Moses points us to the eternality of the God whom we praise. It is in recognizing our fraility but trusting in God’s everlasting nature that we can find hope for beyond the grave and purpose and joy for our tough time here.
