Wendi and Dfernando's eleventh episode and their guest interview is with singer-musician/actress Hayley Orrantia.

While she may be best known as “Erica Goldberg” on ABC’s hit comedy THE GOLDBERGS, Hayley is no stranger to the country music world.  Her songs have been featured on many Spotify and iTunes playlists, and on Radio Disney Country.  In 2018, she conducted the Strong, Sweet and Southern Tour, her first headlining tour hitting 22 cities across the US.  She released her first EP “The Way Out” in the Spring of 2019 chronicling her grief over a traumatic breakup. On the day of its release, it reached #20 on the US iTunes Country Chart and #3 on the UK iTunes Country Chart.

As an only child growing up in Texas, Hayley spent many hours in her room singing along to the music of the great voices of our time. Standing on the stage her father built for her in her bedroom, she sang along to the music of artists from many genres including country, pop and R&B.  Although each artist had their own unique style, all made you feel something through their music.  Singing since the age of 9, she added songwriting to her list of skills at age 13, and began piano and acting at age 14.  Through years of study, practice and performance, Hayley has honed her expressive and soulful style that makes her instantly recognizable to the listener.

After spending nearly five years performing at local festivals and events, Hayley came to national prominence on the 1st season of Simon Cowell’s THE X FACTOR USA.  Auditioning initially as a solo artist, she and three other females were assembled by Cowell into a country-pop girl group where they competed in the group category, finishing in 9th place. Her time on the show not only established her musical talent but also her screen appeal, and cemented her desire for a career expressing herself on stage.

Hayley lives in Los Angeles while filming THE GOLDBERGS, but calls Nashville home since moving there in 2013.  She spends her time off from THE GOLDBERGS writing and recording, and is honored to be working with many of Nashville’s most prolific songwriters and producers.

Her film credits include the independent film COOPER AND THE CASTLE HILLS GANG and the feature film GOD'S NOT DEAD 2 where her original song "Silence You" was featured.
