The hashtag #BlackLivesMatter connects tweets to the streets as thousands of Americans have marched to demand justice for Mike Brown, Eric Garner and all black lives that have been taken because of state violence. First, Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of Black Lives Matter, discusses the campaign, its origins, and why it's so important. Then we hear from Dr. Harold Bailey, President of the Albuquerque Chapter of the NAACP. We spoke to Dr. Bailey at the recent #BlackLivesMatter Candlelight Vigil that was hosted by the Black Student Union at the University of New Mexico. Finally, throughout the show, we read a partial list of names of black men and women who have lost their lives to police violence.
