1049 - ENCORE-See Newport, Rhode Island, Seaside

Welcome to Gay Travel Today! I’m Teraj and I’ll be your guide as we explore, engage and indulge in the world of LGBTQ+ travel today.

Let’s head to Newport, Rhode Island for a little bit of seaside comfort, delicious food and rich history. One of the best ways to get a beautiful view of the New England-esque landscape is by ferry. Once arriving on the dock, you can grab delicious dishes from mom-and-pop restaurants like Mission, which serve up what locals call the “best burger in town” and thick-cut, crispy french fries. Be sure to check out the port’s beautiful mansions like “The Breakers,” which is the most famous of the Newport mansions, because it was once the Vanderbilt’s summer cottage. Another place full of history is the Redwood Library, which is the nation’s oldest, continuously operating community library, filled with historic paintings, sculptures and a rotating art gallery. The Newport Art Museum also features unique works and exhibits of antique and modern art, like that of queer artist Caleb Cole. Have you been to Newport, Rhode Island?
