Hello, Geeks, Gatherers and Gamers! Welcome to our official announcement of our 12 Extra life Marathon Stream! On this coming October 28th, from 2 PM to 2 AM, join the GamerKulture team along with other members of The Grand Geek Gathering Network as they stream SPOOOOOKY games to help raise money for charity on our Twitch page! Another year, another drive to helping others!

Last year we raised over $500 for CHOC (Children’s Hospital of Orange Country) and this year we hope to blow that number out of the water! We know that with awesome supporters like yourself, we can do even better this year to raise money toward helping the patients at CHOC receive the care and aid they and their families need during such difficult times.

What IS Extra Life you might ask? Well, Extra Life is a foundation that unites gamers around the world to play games and raise money for children’s hospitals through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which is a non-profit organization that works with 170 different children’s hospitals around the US and Canada. While gamers stream, their viewers can donate via a page designed to donate to a hospital of their choosing. Since its creation in 2008, Extra Life has helped gamers raise over 30 MILLION dollars for children’s hospitals!

Why CHOC you might ask? Well, not only are they the local children’s hospital for the network, but there’s a more personal connection to the location. I (that is, Kuma, if you watch our GamerKulture content) have a twin sister, and when we were only four years old, she was diagnosed with cancer. She spent several years at CHOC, even, at one point, being designated as terminal and being visited by the Make-a-Wish foundation (she wanted to go to Disneyland, so our family spent a week in Florida at Disney World). Despite her dire circumstance, the doctors, nurses, and all of the wonderful support staff were always kind, supportive, and worked hard to ensure that not only was her time there comfortable, but also ensured that I can say, thankfully, I still have a twin sister. The hospital was her home for a long time, and a second home to my parents. If I can play some video games for your enjoyment, enough that you feel willing to donate even a small amount to the hospital that took care of us, then it is the least I can do to return the favor to them.

So what can you expect during the stream? Our team of gamers will be playing some of their favorite monster riddled games! Wyldkard, Squeakybear Gamer, Bookworm and myself will all be around to keep you laughing (either at our jokes or ineptitude), and during the evening, we’ll be inviting network friends to join us for Trivia Murder Party! Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® raise funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care.
