The political and monetary systems haven't been working for the majority of the developed nations for quite some time. We ask the government to come up with better solutions and bit by bit we offer our freedom in exchange for more intervention in our economic and political lives. Are we expecting too much from our governments, when they are head deep into conflicts and stagnation themselves?
Inequalities in our world are further distancing us from an egalitarian future. The failure of how we put our dependency on capitalism, at least the version of capitalism we run today, is no longer functioning as the original theory suggested.
