Jess Harwick from Episode 07- Pet is back to discuss Phillip Pullman's 1995(!) classic, The Golden Compass. After a critically disastrous movie in 2007 (42% on Rotten Tomatoes....ouch) HBO revived the world of Lyra and Lord Asriel with a 2019 TV Series called His Dark Materials. With a fresh cast, frantic pace, and updated visual style, can the show live up to the magic of Pullman's original novel? Can Jess and I avoid talking about Nicole Kidman's role in the 2007 movie for more than five minutes? Do you agree with our Daemon choices? Most importantly, which did we delve into, and which did we shelve?
