This week I had the pleasure of speaking to an up-and-coming writer who has scared the crap out of me on more than one occasion. If you’ve listened to recent episodes of Raging Nerdon, I assure you, the two are unrelated...unfortunately. Thom Burgess has written two absolutely terrifying one-shots. The first, Malevolents was one of my favorite horror comics of 2015 with a heart-stopping final few pages that make me cringe just thinking of them. The second, The Eyrie, was released earlier this year and is really giving me doubts of ever visiting the scenic countryside of the United Kingdom.
Malevolents can be purchased right now digitally through ComiXology and physical copies of The Eyrie can be found at TheEyrie.bigcartel.com. Thom can be found on Twitter @Maleolvents.
If you’re making horror comics, I’d love to have you as a guest on Funny Book Splatter. This goes out to writers, artists, colorists, letterers, editors, and more. If you’re involved in the process, I want to talk to you. Hit me up via email at [email protected] or on Twitter @JamesFerguson.
