Part 2 of my interview with Dr. Melinda Negron-Gonzalez. Dr. Melinda Negron-Gonzalez is an Associate Professor of Security Studies. Her research covers social movements, international norms that promote human security (especially the responsibility to protect/R2P), Turkish politics and counter-terrorism, and human rights. Her latest research explores the tension between counter-terrorism and human rights and analyzes the ways civil society organizations in Turkey have attempted to promote human rights and hold state officials accountable for gross human rights violations during armed conflict. Part 2 coming next Thursday! Let me know what you think by tweeting me @FromTheSwampPod!
