Israel Arbeiter was born in the city of Plock, Poland. The World War II Foundation took “Izzy” back to Poland and Germany a few years ago for a film titled “A Promise to My Father’. This is part of an interview with Arbeiter talking about his younger days in Poland and his journey through the Holocaust, where his mother, father and younger brother were gassed and cremated at Treblinka Death Camp. Izzy himself spent 6 months at Auschwitz Concentration Camp II (Auschwitz-Birkenau).
