Hey everyone! This episode is going to be a little different from our usual. We take a break from fiction to tackle the very real life issues. I gathered some Black creators to talk about their experiences within the industry and they offer some solutions to people who hire talent.
NOTICE: I apologize for the audio quality on my end, my microphone defaulted to the computer, so it's not ideal. But overall I think that the conversation we have is very important to the growth of other artists and writers.
Thank you so much to:
Odunze Whyte for joining us on the podcast! He is a very talented and hardworking manga artist who's published a series called AppleBlack that you can check out at https://www.saturday-am.com/apple-black-chapter-1 I've also included his linktree which you can access by clicking his name (it includes all of his social media including his very successful Youtube Channel!)
Kozmo Guzman who is a life-long friend and art buddy of mine. He does awesome illustrations and fanart! You can find his art at his Instagram @kozmik.creator
Brandon DavisĀ who is currently writing a comic and collaborating with Kozmo! We've only known each other for a few years now, but I always appreciate his input and access to Pokemon cards~ His Twitter is @BrandononBrand
Josh Davis aka J-Prime who makes amazing music alongside Kay aka SKP, whom I was very happy to meet for the first time!
As always you can find J-Prime's music on his Soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/jtotheprime) and their collaborative music under SKP&J-Prime!
I really hope we continue to see positive change for artists of color over the next few years. I also want to say that Black Lives Matter and that it is a great time to contact your local and state legislatures to defund your police and restructure our law enforcement!
