This week’s guest is a native to Kansas City, Missouri, singer/songwriter and first artist on Strange Music’s new pop imprint Strange Main, Mackenzie Nicole. After a few years of popping up on features on Strange Music label boss Tech N9ne’s various projects, Mackenzie Nicole is here with her debut album The Edge, in stores April 13th. During our interview, the 18-year-old classically trained vocalist talked about what went into the making of The Edge and growing up with the music industry being so prevalent in her life. We also talk about the unique midwest aesthetic when it comes to music artists and the power of the voice of the youth.
