On Fresh is the Word, we like to deliver wisdom through great stories from the minds of bright creatives of pop culture. Through those stories, we like to dissect the journey of our guests and present actionable lessons and advice for our listeners no matter what career or avenue of artistry they pursue.

The guests for this episode are Alethea Van Holland and Jaxon Joubert, creators of the comic series Bad Luck, published by Inbeon Studios.

Bad Luck is a dark comedy/supernatural series set in an alternate 1950's America, witches, demons, and magic are real. Oliver, a bitter incubus is accidentally summoned by Ava, a very forgetful witch, as her familiar. Together, they must explore the far reaches of the world to obtain rare components to complete the ritual that would break their bond, setting Oliver free. However, their adventure doesn't come without a price. A group known as Harvesters are hunting witches like Ava down, and their leader seems to have taken an interest in the pair. Oliver and Ava must learn to work together while avoiding the Harvesters at all costs to see their journey through to the end.

During our chat, we talk about the Bad Luck comic series and we dissect the inspirations behind the characters, how they both became comic creators, how they work together, their styles, Sailor Moon, and so much more.
