On Fresh is the Word, we like to deliver wisdom through great stories from the minds of bright creatives of pop culture. Through those stories, we like to dissect the journey of our guests and present actionable lessons and advice for our listeners no matter what career or avenue of artistry they pursue.

This week’s guest is perfect for the week of Halloween, Spencer Charnas, vocalist of the Boston-based metalcore band Ice Nine Kills. The band just released their fifth studio album The Silver Scream via Fearless Records, a concept album of horror movie inspired madness with each song a tribute to a different iconic cinema classic. During our interview, we talked about Charnas’ love of horror movies and the concepts behind the songs on The Silver Scream, his favorite horror movies, the progression of the band, and much more.

Each episode, the guest is asked to suggest someone from their life/career that should be on Fresh is the Word that would have good stories to tell. Charnas chose Mike Mowery, President and Managing Partner of Outerloop Management.
