Freedom's Creed with Rex Reed

99 episodes - English - Latest episode: 28 days ago - ★★★★★ - 7 ratings

We often view the use of the word, creed, in a religious context, and rightfully so; but at its essence, a creed is a belief that is fundamental, a guiding principle. This Podcast is dedicated to the principle of freedom and liberty. The antithesis of freedom and liberty is oppression. The right to be free is a fundamental belief in American culture, and must never be taken for granted or abused. Therefore, the creed of freedom is more important than any other principle or belief...indeed, perhaps the most important.

Episodes

One Fifth

March 22, 2024 20:00 - 26 minutes - 18.2 MB

Borrowing, when there is no reasonable chance to pay back the funds, is not even close to what most of us would consider sound economic advice.  Unfortunately, this is how the government has been operating for quite some time now.  And Social Security, among other taxpayer funded programs...is in real trouble.

Scam Artists

February 07, 2024 23:00 - 31 minutes - 21.9 MB

It takes some really despicable people to take advantage of vulnerable people in our society.  These scammers seem to have no conscience, they attempt to steal whatever they want.  And in many cases, unfortunately, they are successful.  I have little tolerance for such people!

Government Overreach

January 24, 2024 00:00 - 23 minutes - 16.3 MB

When we submit to the will of an out-of-control government, that takes advantage of our liberty and freedom, indeed actively attempts to minimize our liberty and freedom; then we have succumbed to the control of tyranny.  Our Constitution, and we the people, deserve so much more.

Unchecked Power

December 26, 2023 22:00 - 29 minutes - 20.3 MB

If we're not careful, not paying attention, or simply don't care, we'll find ourselves in a country that resembles totalitarianism, not freedom and liberty.  And then it will be too late to do anything about it.  We must preserve the Constitution if we expect our children and grandchildren to have any hope of benefiting from the sacrifices of those who gave their lives to preserve it.

Observations

December 16, 2023 23:00 - 22 minutes - 15.2 MB

Stopping to think about what's really important is something we should all do on a regular basis.  We have to be willing to stand up for what we believe, and continue to respect the rights of all people to believe what they will.

Borders, Black Markets, Firearms

December 04, 2023 23:00 - 25 minutes - 17.8 MB

We live in a very open country, to be sure.  And for that reason, the "powers that be" need to ensure that they have the safety of the American people as a top priority.  Unless we want to end up like Israel, and experience a terror attack that dwarfs 9/11, our borders must be protected.

Control of Land Tends to Breed Hostility...Why?

November 04, 2023 21:00 - 23 minutes - 15.9 MB

Editing Note:  At around the 8:10 mark of the episode, I said that "Gaza takes over..."  What I meant to say is that "Hamas takes over."   There are regions of the world that have been hotbeds for war and strife for generations.  The Middle East is no exception to this unfortunate rule.  And if there is to be lasting peace there, mighty changes must take place.

We Need to Find a Better Way

October 21, 2023 22:00 - 18 minutes - 12.9 MB

Doing the right thing, that which is kind and nice, doesn't get the attention it deserves in society today; however, just because niceness doesn't sell in the corporate media cesspool, doesn't mean we shouldn't embrace it.  It only takes a small effort on our part to change the narrative for the better.

Nine Eleven

September 11, 2023 23:00 - 13 minutes - 9.36 MB

We must never forget what happened on September 11, 2001.  We owe it to those who perished, as well as to their families, to remember their sacrifices.

Thankful for Limited Animal Performance

September 02, 2023 22:00 - 21 minutes - 14.6 MB

Granted, human beings often show a tendency to misuse the ability to think, reason, be rational, or treat other humans kindly.  But imagine if we were to throw animals into the mix.  Yikes!

We Need to See the Good

July 30, 2023 22:00 - 23 minutes - 15.9 MB

There is plenty that we can all observe in our society, that needs improving.  But what about the good that people do on a daily basis?  We need to take back the narrative!  Let's not allow ourselves to be dictated to, by those who seem to be succeeding in their quest to divide us, and pit us against each other.  We need to choose to do the right thing, simply because it is the right thing.

Emasculating Men

June 03, 2023 00:00 - 21 minutes - 14.6 MB

Contrary to "popular opinion" it's not cool to ridicule men for being masculine.  I make a legitimate attempt to justify masculine behavior in men - and for that matter, the fact that there is both feminine and masculine characteristics in both women and men - and that's okay!

M. D. 23

May 27, 2023 22:00 - 31 minutes - 21.5 MB

Whatever you're doing this Memorial Day weekend, take a few moments to reflect on the lives that have been lost, to preserve your right to enjoy a holiday.  Remember the fallen.

The Right to be Innocent

May 19, 2023 21:00 - 25 minutes - 17.5 MB

The right of the presumption of innocence, as enumerated in the Bill of Rights, is likely one of the most important and basic rights that exists for all Americans.  We must do all within our power to ensure that that right, as well as all the other rights afforded to us, whether enumerated or otherwise, are preserved for everyone.

Management of the Soul

May 12, 2023 22:00 - 21 minutes - 14.5 MB

We all get the opportunity to make better choices today than we did yesterday.  This life is both challenging and exhilarating.  The goal is to make the most of it day after day.

Article 2

May 05, 2023 21:00 - 26 minutes - 18.1 MB

The Constitution is limited, some may even say that it's vague, with respect to the duties of the President.  And to be fair, it is vague regarding many aspects of the three coequal branches of government.  But as to whether the Constitution allows for the Executive to issue Orders, well, that is certainly up for debate.  As far as I'm concerned, the Constitution does not allow for the issuance of Executive Orders!

Mental Illness

April 07, 2023 22:00 - 24 minutes - 17.1 MB

There seems to be an epidemic of consequential significance in America today, it's called mental illness.  If our nations leaders, media, clinicians, and others, do not start addressing this epidemic seriously, it will not end well for any of us.

Equal Vs. Equality

March 27, 2023 22:00 - 17 minutes - 12.2 MB

The arguments about equal and equality have been debated a lot in recent years.  My take on the matter is what I believe to be, straightforward.  I'm no biologist, but I understand basic science.

Oath of Office

March 18, 2023 21:00 - 20 minutes - 14.1 MB

The oath entered into by those who work in government must actually mean something.  We must hold them to account for that oath!

News

March 11, 2023 23:00 - 20 minutes - 14.2 MB

Will we ever know the truth regarding issues that the press has the responsibility to share with the people?  We may never know.  But what we need to know is that we have a responsibility as citizens to find out the truth...no matter where it leads.

Truth in Government

March 05, 2023 00:00 - 14 minutes - 9.8 MB

Wouldn't it be nice if our elected leaders held themselves to the same high standards that they like to hold corporations and other organizations accountable to?

Life

February 18, 2023 22:00 - 22 minutes - 15.8 MB

Life is short.  I believe that we should strive to be a friend to all, even if we don't agree with them all of the time.  Of course, we're going to have friends that we will always keep close.  May each of us be the kind of friend that others would want to keep close.

Saving "Democracy"

February 13, 2023 23:00 - 32 minutes - 22.6 MB

We have heard it often of late from politicians...that they need to save our way of government.  Well, making a speech about it won't help.  It requires action.  It requires fidelity to the Constitution.  Nothing less.

Thoughts

January 20, 2023 23:00 - 22 minutes - 15.8 MB

It's a new year!  What better time than now to evaluate that which is most important in life, whatever that might be for you?  Thanks for listening.

Christmas

December 21, 2022 21:00 - 8 minutes - 5.7 MB

To me, Christmas is a wonderful time of year.  For those of you who celebrate Christmas, I wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Censorship

December 13, 2022 23:00 - 20 minutes - 13.8 MB

We all seem to put up with what we will...until it comes knocking on our door.  It is then that we become very interested when it hits close to home.  Enjoying freedom and liberty requires actively educating ourselves about the importance of what it takes to preserve rights.  If we wait until if hits us personally, then it may be too late.

I Feel Like...

December 03, 2022 21:00 - 19 minutes - 13.5 MB

Getting in touch with our feelings is not a bad thing.  However, when our feelings become preeminent over every other facet of life, then that is potentially, debilitating to our society.

What Are We? Third World?

November 15, 2022 18:00 - 18 minutes - 12.6 MB

We should cherish the right to vote.  And that right must be respected by all citizens.  Those who conspire to change the results of an election, seriously undermine the rights of all the voting populace.

What is Happiness?

November 10, 2022 23:00 - 17 minutes - 11.8 MB

Happiness is one of the most integral components of our life.  Without happiness, we struggle more than we need to.  If we can make the choice, more often than not, to be happy, then life can truly be a joyous experience.

The Divider in Chief

November 04, 2022 02:00 - 31 minutes - 21.4 MB

Unlike some Hollywood elites, and perhaps other people; I love America and choose to live nowhere else in the world.  Not even the Commander in Chief can chase me out of the country...try as he might!

The Criminal Justice System

November 01, 2022 22:00 - 22 minutes - 15.8 MB

All Americans are entitled to equal justice under law.  There is one system of justice in our country.  And whether one is wealthy or well-connected, should have no bearing on the ultimate outcome.  All plaintiffs and defendants are subject to the same standard - preponderance of evidence.  Unfortunately, political persuasion seems to matter more nowadays.

It's Time to Get Out of China

October 21, 2022 21:00 - 21 minutes - 15.1 MB

My problem has never been with the Chinese people.  My problem is with the Chinese Communist Party.  And of course, the capitulation of our own government!

Insurrections

September 21, 2022 21:00 - 24 minutes - 17.1 MB

In a Union of fifty states, especially in the 21st Century, there are bound to be differences of opinion.  However, it seems to me, that the way we overcome differences, is to allow other people the right to believe as they will.  People in our culture need to learn how to deal with the things that other people say...even if they don't agree.

Extremism

September 14, 2022 21:00 - 31 minutes - 21.5 MB

When the sitting president characterizes a voting block of American citizens in the way that Joe Biden did on September 1 - then Houston, we have a problem!

Impossible

September 07, 2022 23:00 - 18 minutes - 12.7 MB

We all have an ability to do more than we think we can.  Never let anyone tell you that what you want to do is impossible.  Work hard.  Stay the course.  Achieve.  Do the impossible.

Demonization of Speech

August 30, 2022 18:00 - 20 minutes - 13.9 MB

We either enjoy the right to free speech, and every other right in this country, or we don't.  No matter where you stand, the right to free speech, as well as the rest of our rights, are worth the effort to defend.

"A Republic, If You Can Keep It"

August 16, 2022 22:00 - 30 minutes - 20.7 MB

No matter your political ideology, we must do all we can to keep our Republic!

A Republic, If You Can Keep It"

August 16, 2022 22:00 - 30 minutes - 20.7 MB

No matter your political ideology, we must do all we can to keep our Republic!

Class Warfare

August 09, 2022 23:00 - 29 minutes - 20.6 MB

Politics can be a nasty business.  But most often, when those we elect to represent us, play politics, we the people get hurt the most.  And what happens to them?  The impact of playing politics has virtually no consequences.  The ballot box, however, is where we can do the most damage.  And we should exercise that right very judiciously.

The Price of Freedom and Liberty

August 03, 2022 01:00 - 19 minutes - 13.5 MB

Is there a price too high to pay in preserving the liberty that we enjoy?  The benefits far outweigh whatever meager price we might pay.  But it's a price we all must pay to preserve liberty for our own, and future generations.

Historical Fragility in 2022

July 06, 2022 23:00 - 19 minutes - 13.7 MB

Do we need to be told that we're fragile because of who we are? In today's episode I employ a bit of sarcasm, parody, and satire to prove a point.  After all, many a truth is said in jest.  I hope you enjoy.

We All Have Choices To Make

June 29, 2022 02:00 - 20 minutes - 13.8 MB

Even though we are faced with challenging times on a regular basis, we don't have to give in to the impulses that sometimes, erroneously lead us down a perilous path.  Becoming a "more perfect union" does not happen automatically.  It takes consistent and worthwhile effort.

Undermining The Republic

June 22, 2022 00:00 - 16 minutes - 11.1 MB

We have a blueprint for freedom and liberty.  It's called the Constitution.  And we need to make sure that we are doing all we can to ensure, not only its survival, but that its blessings are extended to all.

You Can Actually Fix Stupid

June 15, 2022 00:00 - 15 minutes - 10.6 MB

Stupidity does not have to be permanent.  It can be overcome.  Unfortunately, ulterior motives often get in the way of our leaders doing that which would, under more pure motives,  benefit society at large.

"The Last Full Measure of Devotion"

May 30, 2022 19:00 - 11 minutes - 7.88 MB

Memorial Day is a day to remember the fallen, who paid the ultimate price for freedom and liberty; who preserved this amazing idea, largely, for complete strangers.  May we never forget them!

Rules? What Rules?

May 24, 2022 22:00 - 29 minutes - 20.4 MB

Ladies and Gentlemen, it seems evident that Congress has a much different set of rules that govern their conduct, particularly since they're the ones who make their own rules.  And near as I can tell, their definition of rules, differs dramatically from my definition.

We Have A Constitution

May 18, 2022 00:00 - 20 minutes - 14.2 MB

All of us need to be united, regardless of political party, in our support of the Constitution.  If we're not united in our defense of this important document, we will live to regret it.

Freedom's Creed!

May 12, 2022 00:00 - 20 minutes - 14.3 MB

How about we concentrate, and focus our attention on getting rid of political leaders, from whatever party, who are usurping the Constitution.  It's up to we the people, to ensure that our way of life continues.  And the only way we can do that is to elect people to office who respect the Constitution.  End of story!

Who Do You Believe?

April 13, 2022 00:00 - 21 minutes - 15 MB

We all have tons of options when it comes to who, or what we believe.  There are numerous choices to make, and it only seems to be getting more difficult when it comes to finding what is right...what we can actually believe.

American Exceptionalism

March 30, 2022 23:00 - 17 minutes - 11.9 MB

There should not be anything offensive to anyone who hears the term, American Exceptionalism.  It's not an expression that implies mediocrity upon any other nation.  It's simply a phrase that speaks to the brilliance of America's founding documents.  That's it!
