Larry Hankin is an actor, writer, director, and painter and has a resume as tall as I am that and a career that spans six decades. We remember him as Doobie the Cab Driver from Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Kokolovich from Armed and Dangerous, Charley Butts from Escape from Alcatraz, Tom Pepper from Seinfeld and Officer Balzak from Home Alone. His credits also include TV Shows and movies such as That Girl, Laverne and Shirley, Lou Grant, Benson, The Jerk, WKRP in Cincinnati, Barney Miller, Annie, Family Ties, Hill Street Blues, Newhart, and Amazon Women on the Moon (The Ed Begley invisible Man Scene) and many many more

He was nominated for an Oscar in 1980 for his short film- Solly’s Diner and has been nominated for several other awards, such as the Los Angeles Independent Film Awards for Best Actor in 2014 and The World Series of Screenwriting Gold Prize also in 2014.
