Russia and China are establishing increasingly cordial and cooperative relations. This comes at a time when the United States is losing credibility on the world stage, because we demonstrate so little respect for the sovereignty of other countries or for international law.

We have a self-image that says we are the beacon of democracy, but we support anti-democratic regimes all over the world. And the primary test for whether we praise or vilify another country is not whether they respect democracy or human rights, but whether they do things "our way", with "our way" being defined by US corporations and the military industrial complex.

While in American culture, you're not allowed to say anything good about these big, bad bogeymen, the objective reality is that they are in many respects better role models than the United States, in terms of their respect for other countries, notwithstanding all the propaganda to the contrary.

We can at least listen to what they have to say. That's what this episode is about. We will read through the joint statement issued by President Putin and President Xi Jinping. Let's read what they have to say and then go from there, instead of allowing a corrupt, violent media establishment and political class tell us what to think and how to think.
