We're talking food sovereignty on this week's program with Stephen Bartlett, Executive Director of Sustainable Agriculture of Louisville (http://salouisville.org). SAL is a proud Forward Radio Community Partner that has been doing important work locally and globally to take the control of food out of the hands of corporations and putting it in the hands of the people! SAL will be organizing several events to get you engaged this spring:

1. SAL Gardening Parties will be on Thursdays beginning on April 21st from 5 pm to 7ish each Thursday. We will gather at the SAL community garden behind Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church at 142 Crescent Avenue 40206.  Just bring yourselves ready to do garden tasks, and to share in the abundance.  Bring your families, children are most welcome!!

2. We invite you to a Tortilla Festival on Sunday, May 22nd at George Rogers Clark Park (1024 Thruston Ave, Louisville, KY 40217) starting at 1 pm. adjacent the basketball court and pavilion. This event is co-sponsored by SAL and the Preston Highway Ministry.  There will be Tortilla making, with Masa making and beans. Bring a dish, salad or dessert, if you'd like.

3. Three Sisters Planting Day: Sunday, June 5th (Rain date June 12):  Barr Farms 2440 Popham Rd, Rhodelia, KY 40161.  You can carpool with SAL Director from 104 Forest Court, meeting up at 8:00 a.m. for coffee, 8:30 am departure.

As always, our feature is followed by your community action calendar for the week, so get your calendars out and get ready to take action for sustainability NOW!
